What is a Google Page Rank and why is it important to your website?

By

Google Page Ranks are based on just how important you are to the world wide web. This is based upon your content richness, page authority, keyword density, number of back links, traffic and search demand for your website. Having a higher Google Page Rank is very important and what a lot of advertisers and visitors look! Basically the higher your Page Rank is, the higher your chances of actually being found on Google are!

So ... what does this mean? You need to work on doing the things that will bring your Google Page Rank up! This will help you in so many ways! One of which would be to get more advertisers to advertise on your site, charge more for advertising spots, more people will want to exchange links with a higher PR site, you can sell links on your PR site and even if you decided to sell your PR site it would be worth more with a higher PR rating!

Lets take a closer look to what the Google Ranking means when broken down! Google Page Rank runs from zero, being the worst to ten being the very best!

0 - Your website is either new or simply is NOT listed on Google. This is not a good rating to have.
1 - You are listed on Google but, this is still a very poor rating to have.

2 - This is still a Poor Rating but, you have room for improvement and are moving in the right direction!

3 - Three is an average rating because this is the rating that most sites have.

4 - Four is an Above Average rating and you are definately moving in the right direction for the PR rating you want!

5 - Five is a good rating! With a five you may very well land on the first page of some search terms! WTG!

6 - Six is Great! This rating means you have put some work into it and are doing very well. You will now be able to compete with some top positions!

7 - Seven means that your site is on Fire! You are at the top of the searches and are a top site! Most sites dream of being a PR seven site! So if you have accomplished this then you are doing an amazing job! For example: ebay.com is a PR7 and Everybody loves eBay right!? :)

Now ... as for 8, 9 and 10 is a nice thought :) But its very difficult to achieve this. If you do then your website is HUGE! So lets go over these simply for the ... fun of it! :)

8 - If you are a number eight then your site is HUGE! For example: mapquest.com

9 - Nine means that your site is huge and very important! You are now bigger than MapQuest.com, like aol.com

10 - Ten is almost impossible to reach and is reserved for the best such as Google.com (of course) and Microsoft.com.

Not sure what your PR rating is? Check it out here! How can you improve your PR rating?

  • Use lots of meta keyword tags. Be sure to use commas. Do not repeat the same word over and over, do not list the same word more than three times in a row. Remember that Google only indexes the first 101k of a document so be sure not to use to many, no sense in doing overkill.
  • Join Forums and post to forums! This can be a great way to bring traffic and backlinks to your website! Most forums allow you to put a signature on your posts. In most cases you can input your website link as long as your signature is not spammy or to long. Also be sure to post to forums that are somewhat related to your website.
  • Create an Ezine Newsletter - This can be a great way to increase your web presence. This will help you keep visitors coming back to your website! It can also help increase your backlinks to your website! If you create an Ezine be sure to submit your ezine to different ezine directories!
  • Submit to Search Engine Directories - Most search engine directories allow you to submit your website for free. Being listed on other search engines can increase your web presence and the more links you have back to your site the higher your PR will be. Click here for a large list of Search Engine Directories!
  • Publish Articles - Creating and Publishing articles can be an awesome way to genereate new traffic and get backlinks to your site. You may wish to write your articles or outsource and pay a ghostwriter to write them for you! You will then want to publish your articles to Article Directories. This will allow you to insert a Bio about you, the author. If others find your article useful then they can either post them on their website keeping your Bio intact, this inturn creates backlinks back to your site!
